I found this quote on Liz Davidson’s blog, as she rightly says you stumble across things when you need them. And I found this quote particularly poignant.
After two months and 8 drafts of refining and honing, I have finally sent off my proposal for a place as a research student. I confess, my body prickles with heat as I press the send button.
I am truly heartened by all the positive messages (from the universe) I have been receiving recently, ( see previous post). Now with my ‘potager’ tubs planted out with edibles happily established and romping away, tell me am I not right to feel positive, if not a little daunted at what I might be letting myself in for?

Thank you for your good wishes, Seonaid. It is a practice-based PhD about the embodied experience of walking as pilgrimage. ‘The Thin Veil Between Gravity and Grace’, using geographical margins as liminal spaces for a contemporary (my) art practice. I’m already picking the outside leaves of the lettuce!

Sounds wonderful. I’m very drawn to liminal spaces, where change is possible and growth unfurls. I wrote my dissertation on the use of metaphor in recovery from trauma, and the liminal space in our minds between the conscious and the unconscious.

Love your ‘potager’ tubs Caro – I’ve used that quote many times and it was on my blog too which I think is where Liz saw it! Bloggers are such a great community for support and sharing. I wish you good luck with the research proposal – I feel the same re my MA and still not sure after the first year if I’m up to it! All the best

I suspected this to be the case from what you said. If you can decide what it is that you are really passionate about then that might help. You may even be able to turn your MA around in the direction you really want to go. The very best of luck.
